International researchers gather in Yuste within the framework of the José Manuel Durão Barroso Doctoral Seminar on European studies

The European Academy of Yuste Foundation will host the seminar “History, memory and European integration from the perspective of the European Union´s (EU) transatlantic relations” next Monday 26 January. The 10 selected researchers taking part in the seminar are students from Germany, Belgium, Spain, Brazil and Cuba currently undertaking doctoral studies at the Universities of Liège (Belgium), Florence (Italy), Santiago de Compostela, Granada, Salamanca, Seville, Lérida and Navarre. There are two Extremadurans among the selected candidates.

Publication of the Book Rethinking Education, from the European Platform on Access to Culture with the cooperation of the EAYF

The European Access to Culture Platform, to which belongs, the European Academy of Yuste Foundation just published the digital format of the book ‘Rethinking Education: Empowering Individuals with the Appropriate Educational Tools, Skills, and Competencies, for their Active Cultural, Political and Economic Participation in Society in Europe and Beyond’ . The book was already presented, in paper format, coinciding with the last meeting of the network ‘A Soul for Europe’ held in Brussels in December 2014.

The Director-General for External Action of the Extremadura government and Director of the European Academy of Yuste Foundation, Enrique Barrasa Sánchez, presented Dr. Susana del Río´s book “Europe: Project and Process. Citizens, Democracy, Participation” at the European Parliament and European Commission Offices in Madrid. The book has been published by the Foundation as part of its “Yuste Notebooks” collection.
