Yuste Foundation Regrets the Death of Jacques Delors, Laureate of the Carlos V European Award

The Board of Trustees and the staff of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation regret the death of Jacques Delors, former President of the European Commission and the first person to receive the Carlos V European Award. Delors received the award on 6 June 1995, during a solemn ceremony that was presided over by King Juan Carlos I. The jury of the award, which was chaired by Marcelino Orejawho would also receive the award in 2017, recognised Jacques Delors “taking into account his open and tolerant spirit and his support of a European model of society based on the defence of democratic values and human rights”.

THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT PAPERS FOR THE 5TH INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ON RELATIONS BETWEEN LATIN AMERICA, THE CARIBBEAN AND EUROPE IS OPEN

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, along with the University of Extremadura and the Research Centre for Ibero-American Studies of the Rey Juan Carlos University (CEIB-URJC) opened the deadline for the submission of papers for the 5TH International Congress on Relations between Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe, to be held on 10 April at the Royal Monastery of Santa María de Guadalupe under the title “Economy and International Conflicts”.

The president of the Regional Government of Extremadura, María Guardiola, presided over the meeting held by the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation’s Board of Trustees today, where the Action Plan for 2024 was approved. The latter is a programme of activities that intends to further delve into the analysis and knowledge of the European reality, as well as to promote and consolidate the links between Extremadura, Europe and Ibero-America.
