The International Symposium Light at the Service of Mankind was part of the symposiums annually held by the European Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters. After the latest editions in Dublin (2012) and Paris (2013), this time the event took place in the city of Cáceres, declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Organized by the Government of Extremadura and the European Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters, this event was attended by leading scientists and experts at international level on the proposed disciplines. The program addresses, with a strong multidisciplinary nature, issues related to physics, medicine and mathematics, and also includes some presentations related to the role of Europe and emerging countries in a globalized and interdependent world.
