Yuste claims a united and inclusive Europe
The Italian professor Sofia Corradi has been awarded today the Carlos V European Award by the European Academy of Yuste Foundation. This took place in a solemn ceremony presided by Felipe VI, attending for the first time as King of Spain, before various national and European authorities who wished to endorse their support and recognition to Sofia Corradi, driver of the Erasmus programme. The award coincides with the celebration of Europe Day.

The European Academy of Yuste Foundation will present the Carlos V European Award to Italian teacher Sofia Corradi next Monday in a ceremony presided over by the King at the Royal Monastery of Yuste. This award coincides with the commemoration of Europe Day, an opportunity to reclaim the values of a united, solidary and committed Europe from Extremadura.

The President of the Regional Government of Extremadura advocates to capitalise on the fact that the region has been the place chosen by kings and emperors throughout history to spend their last days. Fernández Vara has made these statements in Madrigalejo (Cáceres) at the presentation of the facsimile of the will of Ferdinand II (the Catholic), an act that was also attended by the Duke of Alba, Carlos Fitz-James Stuart y Martínez de Irujo, among other authorities.
The European Academy of Yuste Foundation initiates the “Emperor’s Concerts” commemorating the figure of Miguel de Cervantes
The European Academy of Yuste Foundation, in partnership with National Heritage, has organized a concert for next Friday 22 April, at 7.30 pm, at the Royal Monastery of Yuste, exactly four hundred years after the death of Miguel de Cervantes. The concert, which forms part of the “Emperor’s Concerts” cycle, will include a performance by the Amadeus choir from Puebla de la Calzada (Badajoz), conducted by Alonso Gómez Gallego. It forms part of the program of activities to mark the fourth centenary of the death of Cervantes organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.

On Saturday, the Town Council of Madrigalejo, the Government of Extremadura and the House of Alba Foundation will present the new facsimile of the final will of Ferdinand the Catholic, a document whose original was signed by the monarch on 22 January 1516 in Casa de Santa Maria in Madrigalejo, in other words, just one day before his death in this town in Cáceres.
