The European Academy of Yuste Foundation has opened its Campus Yuste training program with the organization of the 7th Yuste Encounters on the Spanish transition to democracy, this year titled “Culture and the media in democratic Spain and their projection towards Europe”, to be held on 7 and 8 April at the Royal Monastery of Yuste, the headquarters of the Foundation.

To mark the 4th centenary of the death of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, the European Academy of Yuste Foundation is partnering the University of Extremadura in the organization of a conference titled “Another literary perspective. Extremadura and America in the life and work of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra”, directed by Professor Miguel Ángel Teijeiro from the area of Spanish Literature of the Department of Hispanic Philology and General Linguistics.

Guillermo Fernández Vara, President of the Government of Extremadura and the Board of Trustees of the European Academy of Yuste Foundation, announced yesterday that the Carlos V European Award will be presented on 9 May, Europe Day, to Italian professor Sofia Corradi, better known as “Mamma Erasmus” for being the driving force behind this exchange program for European students.
