Yuste Foundation and the Cooperation Network of the Routes of Emperor Charles V have organised the presentation of the Didactic Guides CARLOS V Y LA VERA. PROYECTO DIDÁCTICO PARA APRENDER DESCUBRIENDO and WANDERING IN LA VERA: MEDITATIONS OF AN EMPEROR.

The presentation will be held at the headquarters of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, at the Royal Monastery of Yuste, in Cuacos de Yuste, on Friday 8 April 2022, at 12h30 pm, and will feature the participation of the authors Ramón Pérez Parejo and Ignacio Chato, the illustrator, Celia Conejero, the coordinator of the Plan de Fomento de la Lectura en Extremadura, Virginia Aizkorbe Vivas, and the President of the Provincial Council of Cáceres, Carlos Carlos Rodríguez.

The Puerta de América Foundation and the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation are pleased to invite you to the presentation of the book Carlos V y el mar: el viaje de circunnavegación de Magallanes-Elcano y la era de la especias. This book gathers the contributions made to the Campus Yuste summer course entitled “CHARLES V AND THE SEA: THE MAGELLAN-EL CANO CIRCUMNAVIGATION VOYAGE AND THE SPICE ERA”, held from 21 to 25 September 2020.

The presentation will take place on 5 March 2022 at 12:30 pm at the Bodega Monte de Piedad in Sanlúcar. The event will feature the speeches by Juan Antonio Manzano Pérez, president of the Puerta de América Foundation, and Juan Carlos Moreno Piñero, director of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation.

The Museum of America, the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, the Extremadura Histórica Federation and the Historical Association of Medellín  are pleased to invite you to the presentation of the book Hernán Cortés en el siglo XXI. V Centenario de la llegada de Cortés a México. It includes the contributions made at the International Congress under the same title held on 4, 5 and 6 April 2019 in Medellín and Trujillo.

The presentation will take place on 11 November 2021 at 17:00 pm at the Museum of America in Madrid. The event will also feature a lecture by Ms. Ana Zabía de la Mata, Head of the Museum of America’s Viceroyalty of America Department.

Hernán Cortés en el siglo XXI. V Centenario de la llegada de Hernán Cortés a México, is the 6^th volume of our book collection “Entre dos mundos: América y Europa desde Extremadura”. It gathers all the conferences and presentations that took place in the cities of Medellín and Trujillo (Extremadura, Spain) on 4, 5 and 6 April 2019 during the international congress that was given the same name. This book delves into historiographic knowledge concerning the figure of Hernán Cortés in the context of the 16^th century, and it also attempts to disseminate and make the knowledge on the historical transcendence of the polyhedral personality of Cortés known, according to his origin, youth, education and his colonising, administrative and expeditionary tasks. His concerns as a businessman and as a tireless fighter for the recognition of his legitimate rights are also studied. The objective is to know, understand, contextualise and disseminate the valuable historical, social, cultural and economic legacy that Hernán Cortés left Modernity.

Hernán Cortés en el siglo XXI. V Centenario de la llegada de Hernán Cortés a México, is the 6^th volume of our book collection “Entre dos mundos: América y Europa desde Extremadura”. On 30 January 2020, in Rome (Italy)

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation published the book, Peace and European Values as a Potential Model for Integration and Progress in a Global World, which includes the contributions presented by PhD students who were awarded a “Carlos V European Award- Sofia Corradi European Research and Mobility Grant for European Studies”, at the doctoral seminar held between the 24^th and the 26^th July 2017 in Yuste (Cáceres). This book is included in the book collection “Cuadernos de Yuste”.

The Carlos V European Award includes grants addressed to researchers who are completing their PhD in any European country and who are working on their doctoral thesis. This topic is chosen by the winner of the Carlos V European Award. In this case it was the Italian professor, Sofia Corradi –better known as Mamma Erasmus as she drove this mobility programme- who chose “peace and European values” as the research topic.

The book includes a reflection made by Corradi on peace; a value she describes as “a challenge, an achievement and a reward”. The winner of the 2016 Carlos V European Award also states that “it requires great maturity to actually attain and maintain peaceful coexistence” and she vindicates the personal commitment with “the humble endeavour of prioritising peace, struggling for peace, and developing peace”, because when wanting to achieve it “peace requires work, peace is a daily challenge”. Lastly, Sofia Corradi considers that the Erasmus Programme is “a working instrument of peace, a small pre-emptive contribution”.

The book includes a preface written by Corradi that describes the evolution of the Erasmus Programme since 1987 till present time, where approximately five million people have been exchanged with the programme.

The contents of the volume cover different research areas, giving particular emphasis to the model and European values in a global world; the European Union’s internal policies; the genesis in European values; the role of the Erasmus grants in the internationalisation of higher education; juvenile participation in European Union law; religious rights; the preservation of external frontiers; the policy of historical memory in the Union; external projection or the concept of Europe from a peripheral critical view.

The book is coordinated by the emeritus professor from the University of Salamanca, Jesús Baigorri and by Jürgen Elvert, Jean Monnet Professor for European History from the University of Cologne (Germany) and has been published by the prestigious publisher of scientific works, Peter Lang.

These research works have had the support of the Regional Government of Extremadura, the Extremaduran Agency for International Development Cooperation’s (AEXCID), the Italian Embassy in Spain, the Extremaduran Assembly, the Provincial Councils of Cáceres and Badajoz, the University of Extremadura, the Socio-Economic Governance and European Identity Network (SEGEI) and National Heritage.

The book will be presented on 30 January 2020 during an academic event at the Office of the European Parliament in Italy (Rome), where the authors, researchers as well as the editors of the book and Sofia Corradi –Mamma Erasmus- herself, will participate. The latter will deliver the main keynote address of the event. The Director of the Office of the European Parliament in Rome and the Spanish Ambassador in Italy will also attend the event.

Researchers from diverse nationalities participate in this publication. There are 7 female and 3 male researchers from the following countries: Spain, Italy, Serbia, Hungary, France and Peru, and one of them comes from the University of Extremadura.

The chosen researchers come from the following universities: Leuven (Belgium); Maastricht (the Netherlands); La Sapienza (Italy); the National University of Distance Education (UNED); the Autonomous National University of Mexico; Szeged (Hungary); the Freie Universität Belin (Germany); the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain); the University of Extremadura (Spain), West Hungary (Hungary); Sant’Anna Pisa (Italy) and Córdoba (Spain).

Once the academic presentation concludes, Sofia Corradi will deliver the diplomas to the researchers.

5th of March 2018, at the Conference Hall of the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB), Madrid.

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation presented the posthumous work of the economist and political scientist Viktor Sukup: El Caribe frente a los desafíos del futuro, in Madrid. This is a “panoramic reflection” where he examines history and the reality of the Caribbean region as well as the multiplicity of its people and cultures.

The following assistants participated during the volume’s presentation, which took place at the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB): the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation’s Academic Director, César Chaparro; the Ambassador of Costa Rica in Spain, Doris Osterlof; the former President of the European Parliament, Enrique Barón Crespo; the Director of External Relations of the SEGIB, María Salvadora Ortiz, and the widow of the author, Marta Cazon. The presentation was also attended by the Minister Counselor and Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Haiti, Olga Medor Ducasse and by the director of the European and Ibero-Ameican Academy of Yuste Foundation, Juan Carlos Moreno.

13^th of March 2018, at the Conference Hall of the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB), Madrid.

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation presented the book Rubén Darío. 100 años después. Estudios (Rubén Darío. 100 Years Later. Studies) in Madrid. It is a complete view of the Nicaraguan poet that serves to gain more knowledge about the literary figure whose greatness made him be considered the father of Hispanic American contemporary poetry and the leading representative of Spanish literary Modernism.

The event was attended by the Ambassador of Nicaragua in Spain, Carlos Antonio Midence; the Director of External Relations of the SEGIB, María Salvadora Ortiz; one of the coordinators of this publication and professor of Language and Literature at the University of Extremadura, José Luis Bernal Salgado and the Academic Director of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, César Chaparro. The event included a performance by the Nicaraguan dance group Nicatepetl.
