The 5th Consultative Forum on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe highlights the role of the European Cultural Routes in European cultural, social and economic development
The 5th Consultative Forum on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe has come to an end with the Declaration of Aranjuez, which argues that the routes must undertake to promote European values through culture, as well as cooperation and understanding among European citizens.

Rosa María Martínez de Codes, Professor of American History at the Complutense University of Madrid and the director of the course titled Religion in 21st-century Europe: Challenges and proposals for religious coexistence, has stressed that the underlying idea which has driven all the speakers’ interventions is that inter-religious and inter-cultural dialogue can enhance “respect for human dignity” and that, upon this basis, “we can build and improve our relationships with others”.
