Twenty-two candidates compete for the Carlos V European Award

José Antonio Monago, President of the Government of Extremadura and Chairman of the Board of the European Academy of Yuste Foundation, has presided over the meeting of the Board of the European Academy of Yuste Foundation, during which it has been announced that twenty-two candidatures from seven countries in the European Union have been submitted for the Carlos V European Award.

The new book of the Italian influential intellectual, author of the best seller novel ‘The Name of the Rose’ and important treaties on semiotics, is a fiction story set in 1992 that makes a critique from inside of the journalism profession. Thanks to the ravings of a paranoid editor, Eco tells true histories but reconstructed from outlandish theories or strangely intertwined with others and that end up creating a new story.

Students from the fourth year of ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education) at Turgalium Secondary School from Trujillo have won their way through to the final of the 6th regional competition on the prevention of drug use in leisure and free time among young people in Extremadura, held today in the House of Culture of Navalmoral de la Mata (Cáceres).
