Campus Yuste course debating Hispanic Kingdoms from Fernando The Catholic to Carlos V

The European Academy of Yuste Foundation has started its course entitled ‘Hispanic kingdoms from Fernando the Catholic to Carlos V: European and American political and cultural projection’. It explores, amongst other themes: the consequences and repercussions of the last testament of Fernando the Catholic, signed in the Extremaduran town of Madrigalejo in 1516; his grandson, Carlos I’s governing of Hispanic kingdoms that same year; and the latter’s coronation as Holy Roman Emperor in 1520.

Rosa Balas Torres, Chief Executive of External Action and President of the European Academy of Yuste Foundation’s Executive Committee today opened the course entitled: ‘The European integration process: 30 years of European Union in Spain and Portugal (1986-2016)’ taking place until Friday at the Royal Monastery of Yuste, the Foundation’s headquarters.

AEXCID Director defends mainstreaming of cooperation

José Ángel Calle Suárez, Director of the of Agencia Extremeña de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AEXCID) (Extremadura International Cooperation Agency for Development Extremaduran) took part in today’s course, ‘Prospects, strategies and challenges of the European Union: conflict and safety threats in a global context’ with a focus on the refugee crisis and political transition. Rosa Balas Torres, Director General of Foreign Action for the Regional Government of Extremadura and President of the European Academy of Yuste Foundation’s Executive Committee gave the closing speech, in which she said the debate and reflection encouraged throughout the courses at Campus Yuste “makes for a stronger and better Europe”.
