Yuste Foundation, the Muñoz-Torrero Foundation and the University of Extremadura sign a collaboration agreement to enhance the figure of Muñoz-Torrero and constitutional values

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, the University of Extremadura and the Muñoz-Torrero Foundation have signed a collaboration framework agreement to establish channels that may enable cultural and academic actions in order to enhance the figure of Diego Muñoz-Torrero and constitutional and the democratic values that he promoted.

The agreement has been initialled by the Director of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, Juan Carlos Moreno; the Rector of the University of Extremadura, Segundo Píriz, and the Mayor of Cabeza del Buey and President of the Muñoz-Torrero Foundation, Ana Belén Valls.

Those responsible of each signing institution agreed on the relevance of this agreement due to its significance as far as the acknowledgement of the illustrious citizen from Cabeza del Buey is concerned;  alma mater of the Constitution of Cádiz of 1812, of the constitutional values he defended and their current projection. They have, furthermore, highlighted the importance of this agreement in the dissemination of these goals among the Extremaduran youth “who are the future of the region and should know about those Extremadurans who fought for this land and country, for the culture and the defence of constitutional values”.

The main aim of this collaboration framework agreement, which has a term of four renewable years, is to establish the basic collaboration principles among these three institutions in order to carry out activities related to the study, reflection and dissemination of the figure of Diego Muñoz-Torrero, Spanish constitutionalism and its values, Spanish History and the relations between the European Union and Ibero-America. This could mean carrying out research projects, courses, seminars, exhibitions or the edition of publications, among other activities.
