Yuste Foundation and the Spanish Economic and Social Council Agree to Organise Activities to Strengthen Dialogue between Europe and Ibero-America

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and the Spanish Economic and Social Council (CES) signed a framework cooperation agreement today in Madrid aimed at promoting joint activities in the academic, scientific, cultural and research fields. (25/09/2025)

The director of Yuste Foundation, Juan Carlos Moreno, and the president of the CES, Antón Costas, formalised the agreement, which establishes a framework for cooperation in the organisation of conferences, seminars, congresses, publications and research and development projects, with particular focus on issues of peace, security, cooperation and defence, as well as the analysis of ties between the European Union and Ibero-America.

The first joint activity will be the organisation of a congress to be held in Guadalupe on 8 and 9 April 2026.

To ensure the monitoring of these actions, the agreement provides for the establishment of a joint commission responsible for planning and assessing activities and for ensuring compliance with the commitments undertaken.

With an initial term of four years, renewable for a further four, the agreement strengthens the commitment of both institutions to work together in disseminating socio-economic and labour-related knowledge and in promoting shared values such as democracy, human rights, peace and international cooperation.
