Yuste Foundation Holds a Congress in Guatemala on Cultures and Identities in the Ibero-American Space
The Italian educator Sofia Corradi, better known as “Mamma Erasmus” and awarded the Carlos V European Award in 2016, has passed away at the age of 91 in Rome. Corradi studied at the Columbia Graduate School of Law, earning a Master in Comparative Law. She graduated with honours in Law from the University of Rome La Sapienza and conducted research on the right to education as a fundamental human right at the UN Human Rights Commission, the Hague Academy of International Law, and the London School of Economics.

Yuste Foundation’s director highlights the uniqueness of holding the course on Charles V at the Monastery of Yuste
The director of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, Juan Carlos Moreno, inaugurated the course “The Culture of Entertainment in the Worlds of Charles V: Social Life, Rituals, Parties, Games and Shows”, which addresses the construction of power and the image of the Spanish monarchy at the time of the emperor. This Campus Yuste course is part of the 24th edition of the University of Extremadura’s International Summer/Autumn Courses.

From 27 to 29 June, Campus Yuste will become a forum for analysis, debate and knowledge transfer on relations between the European Union and Latin America under the perspective of the presidencies of the Council of the European Union, at a time when Spain is assuming that presidency. The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation inaugurated the Carlos V European Award – Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe Doctoral Seminar. In this activity ten doctoral candidates who have been awarded one of the European Research and Mobility Grants on European Studies will be presenting their research work dealing with the topic “Culture, heritage, history and memory for the promotion of European values, integration and peace” from a multidisciplinary point of view.
The Diplomatic School visits Yuste Foundation in order to learn about its work and the historical significance of Yuste
The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation will be visited by students from the Diplomatic School on Tuesday, 6th of June. They will learn about the Foundation’s work as well as the significance of this historic place as far as international relations are concerned.
Yuste Foundation and AEXCID organise a conference on youth and human rights activism in Cáceres, Plasencia and Badajoz
Yuste Foundation has launched the project “Youth and Human Rights Activism” along with the Extremaduran Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AEXCID) with the aim of creating a meeting, support and networking platform of people interested in generating messages that transform society and raise awareness of the importance and value of respect for universal human rights.
