LOGOHOMEYoung people from different universities throughout Spain and five other European countries have taken part in the call for grants for the international summer courses organized by the European Academy of Yuste Foundation and the University of Extremadura, within the framework of the Campus Yuste program.

The applications have come from numerous Spanish universities, as well as other European universities such as Aalborg University (Denmark), the University of Bologna (Italy), the University of Vienna (Austria), the University of Maastricht (Netherlands) and the University of Lisbon (Portugal).

The best academic records will be awarded one of the 120 grants to cover registration, accommodation and upkeep costs offered by the European Academy of Yuste Foundation.

The courses for which the period for the submitting of applications closed on 18 June are “Charles V and the idea of Europe: different interpretations”, to be held from 1 to 3 July, “Perspectives and challenges of the European Union: strategic components of energy from a global geopolitical perspective”, from 6 to 8 July and, finally, “The process of European integration within a federal context of the Nation States of the EU”, funded by the European Commission by means of the grant program to promote discussion and to increase awareness of the political priorities of the European Union, which will conclude the summer program from 13 to 16 July.

For the Campus Yuste course to be held in October, titled “Religion in 21st-century Europe: challenges and proposals for confessional coexistence”, the call for grants will remain open until 30 September.

CAMPUS YUSTE

The Campus Yuste program, aimed at students, researchers and professionals, brings together the educational activities of the Foundation and provides its pupils with the opportunity to debate and reflect on issues related to Europe in the unique setting of the Royal Monastery of Yuste.

A new feature of the Campus Yuste this year is the personnel training included in the courses, focussing on three areas: oratory and negotiation, excellence in team building and communication and social networks.
