Paul Preston, member of the European Academy of Yuste, receives an honorary doctorate from the University of Extremadura
The University of Extremadura has granted an honorary doctorate to British historian Paul Preston. The proposal for him to receive the award came from the Department of History of the Faculty of Arts, the venue for the academic ceremony.

The Board of Trustees of the European Academy of Yuste Foundation, which met today at the offices of the President of the Government of Extremadura in Mérida, decided to extend the range of candidacies which can compete for the Carlos V European Award, opening it up to projects and institutions which support European integration.
The call for grants for the course titled Religion in 21st-century Europe: challenges and proposals for confessional coexistence closed
30 September was the deadline to apply for one of the 30 enrolment, board and lodging grants offered by the European Academy of Yuste Foundation for the last international course of the University of Extremadura which forms part of the Campus Yuste 2015 program, titled Religion in 21st-century Europe: challenges and proposals for confessional coexistence, to be held from 21 to 23 October at the Royal Monastery of Yuste. For those who wish to attend the course without a grant the enrolment period will remain open until the day before it begins and until it is full.
First part of the Summer Courses of the Yuste Campus 2015 closed with great success on participation of students, professors and experts
The course titled The process of European integration and the challenges for the future of Europe. Participation, representation and democracy in a federal context of nation States in the EU brings the summer courses of the Campus Yuste program to an end today. Over four days students and speakers have analysed the need to take the European process forward, an issue which has come to the fore as a result of the serious economic and institutional crisis and the questioning of political credibility which has plagued Europe since 2007, calling its citizens and institutions to seek reliable, robust and defining solutions which ensure the process of European construction and integration and dispel the existing doubts about its feasibility.
