YUSTE FOUNDATION RECEIVES AQUÍ EUROPA’S EUROPEAN CULTURAL ACTIVITY AWARD IN BRUSSELS
The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation has been awarded the “European Cultural Activity Award” by Aquí Europa-Canal Europa. The Director of External Action and President of Yuste Foundation’s Executive Committee, Rosa Balas, received the award from the Ambassador of Spain to the Kingdom of Belgium, Alberto Antón Cortés, during a ceremony in Brussels. Rosa Balas pointed out that this award “recognises the work we have been doing to promote European cultural diversity and protect Europe’s cultural heritage”. In this sense, she stressed that Yuste Foundation’s mission “has always been to promote a deeper understanding of European culture”, because culture “is a key element of European integration”.
The jury of the 6th edition of the Aqui Europa-Canal Europa awards for European construction recognised Yuste Foundation for its “contribution to the promotion and consolidation of the existing links between Extremadura, Europe and Latin America under the principles of loyalty, respect for the respective identity, mutual benefit and solidarity”.
With these awards, Aquí Europa-Canal Europa, a media specialised in information of the European Union made entirely in Spanish from Brussels, wishes to give recognition to personalities, institutions, initiatives and companies that have contributed most to the construction of the community project. In this sixth edition, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, the European Parliament, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of the Argentine Republic, Santiago Cafiero; the former director of the European Commission representation in Madrid, María Ángeles Benítez; the president and vice president of Prensa Ibérica, Javier Moll and Arantza Sarasola; and the airline Iberia, were also honoured.
