Webinar. What else can we do together? European Union- Ibero-American Relations in the Face of Global and Current Challenges
WEBINAR. 14 July 2020. 18:00 h. – 19:45 h. (Madrid – CET)
The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation organises this seminar, entitled “What else can we do together? European Union- Ibero-American Relations in the Face of Global and Current Challenges”, with the collaboration of two members of its Academy, who stand out for their work and experience in the field of Euro-Ibero-American Relations: Rebeca Grynspan, Ibero-American Secretary General, and Ramón Jáuregui, President of Euroamerica Foundation. Two of the people who are currently in charge of managing, promoting and nurturing the Euro- Ibero-American relations from the institutions and organisations they represent: Cristina Gallach, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and for Ibero-America and the Caribbean of the Spanish Government and Javi López, Co-president of the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly of the European Parliament, also participate in the encounter.
Yuste Foundation wishes to organise this webinar, within the framework of its Aula Abierta programme, with the intention of creating debate on how different institutions and organisations from the public, but also from the sphere of civil society, can respond to current and global challenges together, which, if already complex, have increased dramatically due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
We must seek joint and coordinated responses, within the framework of the geopolitical potential of EU-Latin America relations, with the American continent which has become the epicentre of the pandemic and Europe facing its de-escalation with intermittent outbreaks throughout its territory, strongly marking the uncertainty of what will happen in the coming weeks and adding questions as to how the continent will emerge from one of the greatest crises experienced in recent decades with consequences in the fields of health, society, politics and the economy.
With the collaboration of the Cervantes Institute in Brussels.
