Yuste Foundation offers 200 grants for the international summer courses of the Yuste Campus programme
The European and Iberoamerican Academy of Yuste Foundation , in collaboration with the University of Extremadura, offers 200 grants in order to cover the tuition fees, as well as, accommodation and subsistence cost, for those interested in attending the international summer courses of the “Yuste Campus” programme.
The courses will be held mainly at Monastery of Yuste (Cuacos de Yuste, Cáceres) during June and July 2019. One of the courses will take place in the municipality of Guadalupe (province of Caceres, Spain)
The deadline for/of the submission of application forms and all required documents is 5th of June.
The beneficiaries of the grants will be those who meet the following requirements: be nationals of a European Union country or third countries when proving that he/she is a permanent resident of a European Union country; be enrolled or have completed a degree two years before the present call -these should be official degrees of the European Union- and not be in receipt of any other study grant and/or subsidy for the same concept and for the same course. The procedure for granting the established aid in the present call is competitive concurrence and the academic record will be borne in mind among the selection criteria.
The courses offered with a grant are the following:
- Perspectives and challenges of Agenda 2030. Equality, Sustainable Communities and Strong Institutions for Development, Peace… . Guadalupe (Cáceres), from 26th to 28th June 2019.
- The redefinition of the social contract in Latin American-European Union relations: current responses to global Challenges . Royal Monastery of Yuste, from 3th to 5th July 2019.
- The European Union and today’s challenges: nationalism, globalisation, terrorism, misinformation and immigration . Royal Monastery of Yuste, from 10th to 12th July 2019.
- The world of Charles V: women in Renaissance Europe and the new world . Royal Monastery of Yuste, from 17th to 19th July 2019.
- Proposals for preventing and combating radicalisation and hate crime in the European context Royal Monastery of Yuste, from 24th to 26th July 2019
Approximately 80 teachers and experts from European and Ibero-American countries will participate in these courses.
The courses are held in collaboration with the Extremadura Agency for International Development Cooperation (AEXCID); Guadalupe City Council; Carolina Foundation, Ibero- American General Secretariat (SEGIB), University of Extremadura (UEX)- Module Jean Monnet (Project EU – HOPE); Complutense University of Madrid, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain (MAEC); Ministry Economy and Business of Spain (MINECO)- Projects “Freedom of expression and prevention of violence based on religion” and ” The Secular State and coexistence policies: conflict, radicalism and consensus”; the Network of Routes of Emperor Charles V, and the Spanish Federal Council of the European Movement.

YUSTE CAMPUS
The objective of this training programme is to carry out specialised courses and encounters aimed at encouraging the debate and reflection of university students, researchers and professionals on the process of European construction and integration, as well as on European current affairs and other subjects regarding European and Ibero-American history and remembrance, or the foundation’s foundational objectives. All this from a multidisciplinary perspective and in a unique context as is the Royal Monastery of Yuste, which enables the contact and exchange of knowledge among students and speakers, who will share reflections with experts on the subject matter and first-rate personalities form the academic, political or social area, thus making it a space for reflection, thought, culture and science.
The aim of the Yuste Campus grants is to make the training programme known and invite as many people possible, even beyond national borders, in order to enable the participation and presence of university students, researchers, experts and professionals interested in each subject area.
