COMUNICATION
Yuste Foundation publishes the Newsletter Annual of the Academy of Yuste
The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation has published the Newsletter Annual of the Academy of Yuste, “Reflections on Europe and Ibero-America”. This publication compiles all the articles in Spanish and English published in the monthly 2020 digital newsletter that Yuste Foundation distributes every month digitally and free of charge to its subscribers, who currently number more than six hundred.(28/12/2021)
Throughout its 815 pages, the annual gathers thoughts, reflections and opinions of the academics of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste, as well as opinion articles from other experts, professionals and professors linked to Yuste Foundation. In addition to these, the newsletter provides articles written by young researchers who have enrolled in the Foundation’s training and academic programmes each month.
The Foundation published eleven issues throughout 2021 with the aim of recovering the activity of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste and giving voice to the students of the Yuste’s Alumni Network. It incorporates sections in which various collaborators participate, as well as speakers of the training activities of the Foundation and prestigious personalities in different fields at European and Ibero-American level.
In view of 2022, the sections will be expanded including one called “Testimonies” that seeks to include the voice of the young people who participate in our activities, especially those in Campus Yuste, so that they can reflect and give their opinions on current issues from their perspective. A paper-based annual will be published again in 2022, compiling the contents of the 11 issues worked on in 2021.
The Academy of Yuste
The Academy of Yuste is a forum for debate, analysis, meeting and reflection on the different issues related to Europe and Ibero-America, its institutions, art, culture, science, literature, economy, politics, fundamental rights and any other area that the Academy considers appropriate.
It is composed of a maximum of fifty academics assigned to as many chairs, which are designated with the names of already deceased European and Ibero-American personalities, and its members are European and Ibero-American personalities of recognised intellectual, scientific or cultural prestige, who hold the distinction of Academic of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste along with the name of the chair they occupy.
The purpose of this appointment is to expressly distinguish people who have stood out due to their work for the purposes pursued by the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste, promoting the construction of the common cultural heritage and the progress and development of the sciences in general with their work and are thus valuable advisers to the Foundation.
