Yuste Foundation opens the deadline for submitting papers to the 2nd International Congress “Relations Between Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe: A Meeting Space”

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, the University of Extremadura (UEx) and the Study Centre on Ibero-America of the Rey Juan Carlos University (CEIB-URJC) organise the Second International Congress “Relations Between Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe: A Meeting Space” to be held in Guadalupe (Cáceres) on 23, 24 and 25 March 2022. (20/12/2021)

Young doctoral researchers and doctors whose research delves into different thematic lines, such as the historical relations between America and Extremadura, and the historical and current international relations between Latin America and Europe, will be able to submit papers. The deadline for submission is 31 January 2021.

As regards the working languages, applicants for papers may submit their presentations in Spanish, English and Portuguese. The organisation plans to grant up to 14 financial grants to cover the cost of the stay in Guadalupe.

The Congress intends to continue deepening the relations that have been taking place between America and Europe for centuries. Priority will therefore be given to research that examines this relationship and focuses on aspects relating to democracy, the fight against organised crime and drug trafficking, as well as cultural aspects of the relationship between the two regions. In addition, this meeting of experts aims to further advance studies on migration flows between America, Extremadura and Europe, and increase the debate between the two regions based on the participation of young researchers in the fields of International Relations and the History of Ibero-America.

The organising committee of the congress is composed of professors and experts from the organising entities.
