YOUNG PEOPLE INTERESTED IN CINEMA CAN REGISTER TO BE PART OF THE YOUNG JURY OF THE 28TH IBERIAN FILM FESTIVAL UNTIL 4 JULY

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and the Iberian Film Festival of Badajoz invite young people aged 18 to 30, who are residents of Extremadura, to join the Young Jury of the 28th Iberian Film Festival, which will be held from 19 to 23 July 2022 in Badajoz, Olivenza and San Vicente de Alcántara. This jury will award the “Luis Alcoriza” Prize to the best short film, in their view, in the official section. (08/06/2022)

Those interested in becoming a member of the Young Jury can register until 4 July filling in the form that they will find on the Festival’s website: www.festivaldecine.com.

The organisation of the Iberian Film Festival will give those registered a simple test of cinematographic analysis of a short film in order to guarantee the candidates’ competence and suitability.

The members of the Young Jury will be able to participate in all the Festival’s activities and will obtain a certificate accrediting their status as a Young Jury at the 2022 28th Iberian Film Festival of Badajoz. They will be required to attend all official short film sessions in competition.

With this activity, the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and the Iberian Film Festival of Badajoz promote the participation of youth in the audio-visual and cinematographic field.
The Jury’s Prize is named after Luis Alcoriza in tribute to this director, screenwriter and film actor who was born in Badajoz and exiled in Mexico after the civil war, becoming one of the greatest figures of Mexican cinema.
His career includes collaborations with Luis Buñuel in eight scripts, including “Los olvidados” and “El ángel exterminador” among others.
