Yuste Foundation Mourns the Passing of Sofia Corradi, Carlos V European Award Laureate

The Italian educator Sofia Corradi, better known as “Mamma Erasmus” and awarded the Carlos V European Award in 2016, has passed away at the age of 91 in Rome. Corradi studied at the Columbia Graduate School of Law, earning a Master in Comparative Law. She graduated with honours in Law from the University of Rome La Sapienza and conducted research on the right to education as a fundamental human right at the UN Human Rights Commission, the Hague Academy of International Law, and the London School of Economics.

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation is organising the I International Congress “Relations Between Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean: A Meeting Space” along with the University of Extremadura, the Centre for Ibero-American Studies of the Rey Juan Carlos University, the City Council of Guadalupe and the Franciscan Community, which will be held between 18 and 20 March in Guadalupe.

It will be held on 25 February from 17:30 to 19:00 pm. This activity is part of the Cycle of Meetings “Guadalupe as a Destiny”, which commemorates the Holy Year of Guadalupe, an event declared of exceptional public interest in January this year
