The Regional Government of Extremadura Sees Campus Yuste as a Place for Deep Reflection on Global Affairs

The director general for External Action of the Regional Government of Extremadura, Pablo Hurtado, inaugurated today the course “Health, Illness and Nutrition During the Reign of Charles V”, which will run until 25 July at the Monastery of San Jerónimo de Yuste. This event concludes the Campus Yuste training programme, part of the 26th edition of the University of Extremadura’s International Summer/Autumn Courses.

The President of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation’s Executive Commission and Director General of External Action of the Regional Government of Extremadura, Rosa Balas, closed the summer courses included in the programme Campus Yuste, which have been carried out at the Royal Monastery of Yuste –lasting three days each- (from Wednesday to Friday) since the last week in June. The courses are framed within the University of Extremadura’s International Summer Courses.

Over forty students from several European and Latin American countries attend the course “The Redefinition of the Social Contract in Latin American-European Union Relations: Current Responses to Global Challenges”, which will open next Wednesday, July 3, at 09:00 am, at the Royal Monastery of Yuste; a course that takes place in the framework of the Campus Yuste programme.

The Director of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, Juan Carlos Moreno, affirmed that the course Perspectives and Challenges of the 2030 Agenda: Equality, Sustainable Communities and Strong Institutions for Development, Peace and the Achievement of SDGs “has enabled us to outline the intended improvement, the final destination of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and realise that there is no other possibility than to attain a universal world ruled by respect for the dignity of all people, and where human rights may be acknowledged”.
