Campus Yuste Examines the Future of EU–Latin America and Caribbean Relations in a New Global Context
“Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean face both the challenge and the tremendous opportunity of preserving their historic relationship while working together to develop responses to an increasingly complex world”. These were the words of Pablo Hurtado, director-general for European Affairs and External Action of the Regional Government of Extremadura, at the opening of the course “UE–LAC Relations: Opportunities and Challenges in a Transforming World”, which is being held until Friday at the Monastery of San Jerónimo de Yuste, “a site of European memory from which Yuste Foundation promotes dialogue, reflection and exchange between Europe and Ibero-America”.

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation has organized the Carlos V European Award Doctoral Seminar on Multidisciplinary Studies on Contemporary Europe–Angela Merkel, entitled “The Fortune of Being United: Securing and Strengthening Europe’s Cohesion”, which will bring together eighteen researchers from Cuba, Spain, Bulgaria, and Malaysia, as well as experts from Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Serbia, Belgium, and Peru, from June 23 to 26, at the Monastery of San Jerónimo de Yuste.

With the aim of exploring strategies to better integrate European values into cultural heritage, and more specifically into sites certified with the European Heritage Label, the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and Patrimonio Nacional, in collaboration with Minas de Almadén – Parque Minero, have organised the meeting “Integrating European Values into Cultural Heritage”, which will take place on 22 and 23 May at the Monastery of San Jerónimo de Yuste.
Yuste Foundation and the Iberian Film Festival of Badajoz Encourage Young People Residing in Extremadura to Be Part of the Young Jury
The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and the Iberian Film Festival of Badajoz encourage young people between the ages of 18 and 30, who reside in Extremadura, to be part of the Young Jury for the official short film section of the 31st Iberian Film Festival, which will take place from 7 to 11 July 2025, in Badajoz, Olivenza, and San Vicente de Alcántara. This Young Jury will be responsible for deciding the “Luis Alcoriza” Award.
