Rosa Balas highlights the work of citizens, regions and municipalities as examples of European values in the face of the refugee crisis
Rosa Balas, the Director of the Executive Commission of the European Academy of Yuste Foundation and General Manager of External Action, today highlighted the work of citizens, regions and municipalities, because they have known how to “apply the principles of solidarity, social justice and the defence of equality in the face of the migratory flows and refugee crises we are dealing with”.
The call for grants for the course titled Religion in 21st-century Europe: challenges and proposals for confessional coexistence closed
30 September was the deadline to apply for one of the 30 enrolment, board and lodging grants offered by the European Academy of Yuste Foundation for the last international course of the University of Extremadura which forms part of the Campus Yuste 2015 program, titled Religion in 21st-century Europe: challenges and proposals for confessional coexistence, to be held from 21 to 23 October at the Royal Monastery of Yuste. For those who wish to attend the course without a grant the enrolment period will remain open until the day before it begins and until it is full.
The European Academy of Yuste Foundation participates in European Routes of Emperor Charles V meetings, held in Lisbon
The European Academy of Yuste Foundation, which holds the secretariat of the Network, has taken part in the board of directors’ and general meeting of the European Routes of Emperor Charles V Network, held on 16 and 17 December at the Portuguese Academy of History in Lisbon.

The Carlos V European Awards organised by The European Academy of Yuste Foundation will be held on an annual basis from now on and be open to individuals, initiatives, institutions and projects that have contributed to exalting the European Union. Awards will be delivered on the 9th of May, European Union Day, at the Monastery of Yuste.

The European Academy of Yuste Foundation is offering a grants programme linked to the Carlos V European Award, aimed at researchers currently working on a doctoral thesis in any field of study. The theme of the grants is adapted to the profile of the person presented with the Award, and the theme of this edition’s grants call is, from a multidisciplinary perspective, “Peace and European values as a potential model for integration and progress in a global world”.

The European Academy of Yuste Foundation is to participate in a debate and discussion under the slogan “Cómo hemos cambiado”, to be held on Friday 18th November at 12pm at the Fundación Mercedes Calles (Mercedes Calles Foundation) in Cáceres, to celebrate 2016 marking the thirtieth anniversary of Spain joining the EU.
