Yuste Foundation is awarded for its European cultural activity

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation has been awarded the “Award to European Cultural Activity” delivered by Aquí Europa-Canal Europa, the specialised information service in the European Union that produces news entirely in Spanish from Brussels. (21/12/2022)

The jury of the 6th edition of these awards for European integration recognised Yuste Foundation as an entity whose purpose is to support the promotion of democracy, respect for human rights, the promotion of peace and international harmony, as well as the development of all peoples and nations of the world, through the promotion of culture, research, dissemination of knowledge and social integration. This recognition is thus given to the Foundation due to its “contribution to the promotion and consolidation of the existing links between Extremadura, Europe and Ibero-America under the principles of loyalty, respect for the respective identity, mutual benefit and solidarity”.

The “Aquí Europa-Canal Europa Awards” aim to recognise the personalities, institutions, initiatives and companies that have contributed most to the construction of the community project. Thus, in addition to Yuste Foundation, the work and career of the director of the European Commission Representation in Spain, María Ángeles Benítez Salas; the company IBERIA, the editors of Prensa Ibérica, Javier Moll de Miguel and Arantza Sarasola; the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell; the Minister for Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of Argentina, Santiago Cafiero, as well as the 70 years of democracy and the rule of law of the European Union, have been recognized.

The jury for these awards was made up by the Director-General for Communication and European Parliament spokesperson, Jaume Duch; the European Commission’s legal secretary, Daniel Calleja; the co-chair of the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly (EuroLat) Javier López; the Ambassador of Argentina to the EU, Pablo Grinspun, and the Ambassador of the Permanent Representation of Spain to the EU (REPER), Marcos Alonso. The award ceremony for the 6th edition of the “Aqui Europa-Canal Europa Awards” will be held in Brussels next year.
