Yuste Foundation Mourns the Passing of Sofia Corradi, Carlos V European Award Laureate
The Italian educator Sofia Corradi, better known as “Mamma Erasmus” and awarded the Carlos V European Award in 2016, has passed away at the age of 91 in Rome. Corradi studied at the Columbia Graduate School of Law, earning a Master in Comparative Law. She graduated with honours in Law from the University of Rome La Sapienza and conducted research on the right to education as a fundamental human right at the UN Human Rights Commission, the Hague Academy of International Law, and the London School of Economics.

Yuste Foundation Announces the 2022 Research Prize to Ibero-American Doctoral Theses
The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI) signed a memorandum aimed at articulating the framework of collaboration between the two institutions in order to carry out activities in the fields of education and culture.

The call for the 16th edition of the Carlos V European Award is now open
The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation opened the call for the 16th edition of the Carlos V European Award, which is aimed at rewarding individuals, organisations, projects or initiatives that have contributed to the general knowledge and enhancement of Europe’s cultural, social, scientific and historical values as well as to the process of European construction and integration through their efforts.
A course on Charles V and America analyses the legitimacy of the occupation in the Indian territories
Yuste Foundation has organised the 1st Symposium “Charles V and America. Ethics in the Hispanic Occupation of the Indies and in the Indigenous Integration during the Carolinian Period” along with the Research Group Extremadura and America (Extrem@mérica). The event will be held on 24 and 25 November in the assembly hall of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters (the campus in Cáceres) of the University of Extremadura.
YUSTE FOUNDATION’S BOARD OF TRUSTEES APPROVES ITS ANNUAL ACCOUNTS AS WELL AS THE 2023 ACTION PLAN
The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation’s Board of Trustees, which met this morning under the presidency of the President of Regional Government of Extremadura, Guillermo Fernández Vara, approved its 2023Action Plan. The Plan comprises a comprehensive and diverse programme of activities that intends to continue delving into the analysis and knowledge of the European reality as well as to promote and consolidate the links between Extremadura, Europe and Latin America.
Fernández Vara presides over Enrique Moradiellos’ investiture in Mérida as a member of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste
Enrique Moradiellos García, professor of Contemporary History at the University of Extremadura and Doctor of History from the University of Oviedo, has taken up his position as a member of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste in Mérida today and he will occupy the Herodotus of Halicarnassus Chair, who is considered the father of History.

Enrique Moradiellos García will take office as a member of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste tomorrow during a ceremony that will take place in the “Sala de Banderas” of the Presidency of the Regional Government of Extremadura at 11:30 am. The event will be chaired by the president of the Regional Government of Extremadura, who is also the president of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation’s Board of Trustees, Guillermo Fernández Vara.
THE ROLE OF THE MASS MEDIA, THE SUBJECT OF ANALYSIS AT THE 12TH MEETINGS OF YUSTE: TRANSITION AND TRANSITIONS
Yuste Foundation has organized the “12th Edition of the Meetings of Yuste: Transition and Transitions” along with the University of Extremadura. This year, they are entitled, “The Mass Media and Political Transition: Spanish Democracy Throughout Time”, and will be held on 3 and 4 November in the auditorium University of Extremadura’s Faculty of Philosophy and Letters.
YUSTE FOUNDATION ORGANISES TECHNICAL SESSIONS OF COOPERATION BETWEEN EUROPE AND LATIN AMERICA THROUGH CULTURAL ROUTES AND ITINERARIES
Yuste Foundation together with the European Institute of Cultural Routes and the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI), and in collaboration with the Cooperation Network of Historic Pilgrimage Roads to Guadalupe, have organised the 1st Cooperation Technical Sessions: Historic Roads to Guadalupe to be held on 27 and 28 October in the Auditorium of the Royal Monastery of Santa María de Guadalupe.

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) signed an agreement aimed at articulating a framework of collaboration between the two institutions for the implementation of training activities.
