The three Spanish winners of the Carlos V European Award granted by Yuste Foundation, Felipe González, Javier Solana and Marcelino Oreja, participated in the webinar “Quo Vadis, Europa? in the Post-Covid Era” in order to analyse the current situation which Europe finds itself in and to reflect on the challenges it faces, especially bearing in mind that the Conference on the Future of Europe will be launched on 9 May, coinciding with Europe Day.

Yuste Foundation is organising the webinar “Youth and the Future of Europe” which will take place on 13 May at 5.30 p.m., with the aim of discussing key issues to define how to improve European youth policy and encourage active participation of young people in the process of European construction. The meeting is part of Yuste Foundation’s Cycle of Meetings called “Guadalupe as a Destiny”, which is organised on the occasion of the Holy Year of Guadalupe 2021, and is also held around the commemoration of Europe Day. It also aims to contribute to the Conference on the Future of Europe.

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation is organising the webinar “The Relation between the Religious Phenomenon and the Identity Formation of a Community, Paying Special Attention to the Historical Development of the Religious Symbol that the Virgin of Guadalupe in Mexico is”, which will be held on 29 April in Guadalupe at 17:30 pm.

The Board of Trustees, the Academy and the staff of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation mourn the death of the 93-year-old Swiss theologian Hans Küng, a member of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste since 2004, when he took possession of the Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Chair.

The doctoral thesis “Cirurgiões, práticas e saberes cirúrgicos na América portuguesa no século XVIII”, by the Brazilian Monique Palma, won the I Research Prize to Ibero-American Doctoral Theses convened by the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation. The prize was awarded in the framework of the I International Congress, “Relations Between Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean: A Meeting Space”, held between 18 and 20 March at the Royal Monastery of Santa María de Guadalupe.

The President of the Regional Government of Extremadura, Guillermo Fernández Vara, has advocated this Saturday for seeking strengths through the meeting spaces where we can share visions, opinions and nuances.
