The San Francisco del Berrocal Convent in Belvís de Monroy, the departure point of the Twelve Apostles of Mexico, relived history with the presentation of the book Los franciscanos en la América Hispana: revisión e interpretación del legado de los Doce Apóstoles de México, a multidisciplinary collective work that brings together the content of the International Congress on the legacy of these twelve friars, held in 2024 in Guadalupe, Cáceres and Belvís.

The three Spanish winners of the Carlos V European Award granted by Yuste Foundation, Felipe González, Javier Solana and Marcelino Oreja, participated in the webinar “Quo Vadis, Europa? in the Post-Covid Era” in order to analyse the current situation which Europe finds itself in and to reflect on the challenges it faces, especially bearing in mind that the Conference on the Future of Europe will be launched on 9 May, coinciding with Europe Day.

The Role of Youth in the Future of Europe under Discussion in a New Meeting Organised by Yuste Foundation

Yuste Foundation is organising the webinar “Youth and the Future of Europe” which will take place on 13 May at 5.30 p.m., with the aim of discussing key issues to define how to improve European youth policy and encourage active participation of young people in the process of European construction. The meeting is part of Yuste Foundation’s Cycle of Meetings called “Guadalupe as a Destiny”, which is organised on the occasion of the Holy Year of Guadalupe 2021, and is also held around the commemoration of Europe Day. It also aims to contribute to the Conference on the Future of Europe.

A THESIS ON THE HISTORY OF MEDICINE IN THE EIGHTEENTH CENTURY WINS THE I RESEARCH PRIZE TO IBERO-AMERICAN DOCTORAL THESES DELIVERED BY YUSTE FOUNDATION

The doctoral thesis “Cirurgiões, práticas e saberes cirúrgicos na América portuguesa no século XVIII”, by the Brazilian Monique Palma, won the I Research Prize to Ibero-American Doctoral Theses convened by the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation. The prize was awarded in the framework of the I International Congress, “Relations Between Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean: A Meeting Space”, held between 18 and 20 March at the Royal Monastery of Santa María de Guadalupe.
