Yuste Foundation organises the “Sessions on Security and Defence in the Ibero-American Space” in Cáceres
With a view to contributing to the promotion of democracy, respect for human rights, the promotion of peace and international harmony, the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation has organised the “Sessions on Security and Defence in the Ibero-American Space”, to be held on 26 and 27 September in the assembly hall of the University of Extremadura’s Faculty of Philosophy and Letters. (21/09/2023)
This activity, which takes place within the framework of Yuste Foundation’s School of Guadalupe, aims to address the new threats and challenges of the international strategic scenario, paying special attention to Europe and Ibero-America, as well as to the adaptation and response of the Armed Forces to the new challenges regarding security and defence. In addition, the course counts with the collaboration of the Ministry of Defence, which has been collaborating with Yuste Foundation for some years in organising joint academic activities. These include the sessions on defence, which are particularly important, and whose geographical areas of study are those of Europe and Ibero-America.
The course directors, the Deputy Delegate of Defence in Cáceres, Colonel Manuel del Pozo López, and the director of Yuste Foundation, Juan Carlos Moreno Piñero, will be in charge of the opening. In addition, the director of the Division of Coordination and Studies of Security and Defence (DICOES) of the General Secretariat of Politics and Defence (SEGENPOL), colonel of the Army José Luis Calvo Albero; the head of the area of Geopolitical Analysis of DICOES-SENGEPOL, Captain Ricardo Valdés Fernández; and the professor of International Relations at the Rey Juan Carlos University, Sagrario Morán, will speak, among other experts.
