This volume of the collection “Entre dos mundos: América y Europa desde Extremadura” is dedicated to the historical-cultural and iconographic study of the representations of the Virgin of Guadalupe of Extremadura in South America from the 16th to the 18th century. The book, coordinated by Professors Rafael López Guzmán and Pilar Mogollón Cano-Cortés, consists of four chapters in which specialists from two American and two Spanish universities have participated. The study stands out particularly due to the new contributions of data, documents and works in which the importance of the representations and devotion of the Virgin of Extremadura in the New World is analysed.
Texts by: Rafael López Guzmán, Pilar Mogollón Cano-Cortés, Jorge Ricardo Estabridis Cárdenas, Adriana Matilde Pacheco Bustillos and Adrián Contreras-Guerrero.
