Ten Researchers Gather in Guadalupe for the Carlos V European Award-European Disability Forum Doctoral Seminar
The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation has organised the Carlos V European Award Doctoral Seminar of Multidisciplinary Studies on Contemporary Europe – European Disability Forum entitled “United in Diversity: The Impact of the European Union on the Lives of People with Disabilities”. The seminar will bring together ten researchers from Spain and Colombia, as well as experts from Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, and Serbia, from 16 to 18 December at the Royal Monastery of Santa María de Guadalupe in Spain.

YUSTE FOUNDATION REGRETS THE DEATH OF MARTTI AHTISAARI, MEMBER OF THE EUROPEAN AND IBERO-AMERICAN ACADEMY OF YUSTE AND NOBEL PEACE PRIZE
The Board of Trustees and staff of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation regret the death of Martti Ahtisaari, former president of Finland and Nobel Peace Prize winner in 2008. Ahtisaari was a member of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste. He occupied the Nicolaus Capernicus Chair during the ceremony of the Carlos V European Award to Simone Veil on 18 June 2008.
Yuste Foundation participates in a European Union cooperation programme between Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean
The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation has come together with other entities from Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean through a triangular cooperation alliance in order to jointly and complementarily work together to exchange knowledge and tools in terms of cultural routes and itineraries.

Yuste Foundation Organises Two Concerts in the Monastery of Yuste
One more year, the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation has organised the Cycle of the Emperor’s Music concerts along with National Heritage, which will be held on the Saturdays of 16 and 23 September 2023, at 13:00 pm, at the church of the Monastery of San Jerónimo de Yuste. There will be free admission until full capacity is reached.
Yuste Foundation’s director affirms that young people committed to human rights are the future of humanity
At the opening of the course “Youth and Human Rights Activism”, the director of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, Juan Carlos Moreno Piñero, claimed that these sessions are “different and necessary because they speak of the present but above all of the future”. In his opinion, the issue has an impact on civil society and young people in particular since more than sixty people from twelve countries have enrolled, “and not in all these countries, he stated, is respect for human rights sufficiently guaranteed”.
CAMPUS YUSTE PROMOTES YOUTH ACTIVISM FOR HUMAN RIGHTS
The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation aims to encourage and facilitate the participation of young people to be active participants in the European integration project and in an international cooperation context; the course “Youth and Human Rights Activism” will thus be held from 18 to 20 July.

The director of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, Juan Carlos Moreno, inaugurated the course “The Protection of Common Values in the European Union” today, highlighting that Emperor Charles V, who lived at the Monastery of Yuste for nineteen months and eighteen days, was the first person who devised a united Europe based on values and their defence.

Yuste Foundation’s Board of Trustees Approves the Annual Accounts and the 2022 Activity Report
The Board of Trustees of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, which met today under the presidency of the acting president of the Regional Government of Extremadura, Guillermo Fernández Vara, approved the 2022 annual accounts, which make a net profit of more than 65,000 euros, allowing the Foundation to count with a net worth of more than four 400,000 euros.
