Yuste Foundation Collaborates on a Project Offering Young People from Extremadura the Opportunity to Work in Multilateral Organisations
The Board of Trustees and the staff of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation mourn the passing of the Portuguese historian Manuela Mendonça, a member of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste, who took up the Joan of Arc Chair during the ceremony for the awarding of the Carlos V European Award to the French politician Simone Veil in 2008 at the Monastery of San Jerónimo de Yuste.

The UN Secretary-General will receive the Carlos V European Award on 9 May at the Monastery of Yuste from King Felipe VI
The UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, will receive the Carlos V European Award next Tuesday, 9 May, at 11 am at the Monastery of San Jerónimo de Yuste during a ceremony that will be presided over by His Majesty King Felipe VI, who is the honorary president of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation.
YUSTE FOUNDATION RECEIVES AQUÍ EUROPA’S EUROPEAN CULTURAL ACTIVITY AWARD IN BRUSSELS
The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation has been awarded the “European Cultural Activity Award” by Aquí Europa-Canal Europa. The Director of External Action and President of Yuste Foundation’s Executive Committee, Rosa Balas, received the award from the Ambassador of Spain to the Kingdom of Belgium, Alberto Antón Cortés, during a ceremony in Brussels.
YUSTE FOUNDATION OFFERS 100 GRANTS FOR THE 2023 CAMPUS YUSTE COURSES
The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation opens the application period to apply for one of the 100 grants it offers. These are meant to cover the tuition, accommodation and maintenance expenses of the courses included in the Campus Yuste training programme. The courses are held within the framework of the 23th edition of the University of Extremadura’s international summer-autumn courses.
Colombia Hosts an International Congress Organised by Yuste Foundation on Relations between Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe
As a continuation of the 3rd International Congress on “Relations Between Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe: Images and Views on Both Shores”, which was held in March at the Royal Monastery of Guadalupe (Spain), the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation has organised the 4th International Congress on “Relations Between Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe: Shared Values and Common Challenges” along with the Research Centre for Studies on Ibero-America of the Rey Juan Carlos University and the University of Cartagena de Indias (Colombia), which is to be held at the auditorium of the cloister of San Agustin of the University of Cartagena de Indias on 13 and 14 April 2023.

Fifty judges and magistrates, notaries and property registrars participate in the course “Agrarian and Livestock Law” that has been inaugurated at the Parador de Turismo of Jarandilla de la Vera (Cáceres) as a result of the agreement signed between the General Council of the Judiciary and the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and which emerges with the aim of making Extremadura a national reference in this legal science.

António Guterres, Winner of the Carlos V European Award
The jury of the 16th edition of the Carlos V European Award, which is granted by the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, has decided to deliver the prize to Portuguese António Guterres, current Secretary-General of the United Nations “for his proven, extensive and long-standing life career devoted to social commitment, the process of European integration, the promotion of multilateralism and human dignity as the core of his work, addressing global challenges and crises”.
