Yuste Foundation and the Iberian Film Festival Invite Young Residents in Extremadura to Join the Young Jury

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and the Iberian Film Festival of Badajoz invite young residents of Extremadura, aged between 18 and 30, to be part of the Young Jury, that will be in charge of awarding the Luis Alcoriza Award of the Iberian Film Festival, which celebrates its 27th edition in Badajoz, Olivenza and San Vicente de Alcántara from 20 to 24 July. Those interested in becoming a member of the Young Jury can register until 30 June completing the form that appears in the festival’s website: www.festivaldecine.com

The Iberian Film Festival ‘s team will test those registered requiring them to carry out a cinematographic analysis of a short film in order to guarantee the competence and suitability of the jury that will be chosen.

The members of the Young Jury will be able to participate in all the activities of the Festival and will obtain a certificate certifying their status as Young Jury 2021 in the 27th Iberian Film Festival of Badajoz. It will be mandatory for them to attend all the official sessions of the short films in the contest.

With this activity, the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and the Iberian Film Festival of Badajoz promote the participation of youth in the audio-visual and cinematographic world.

In naming the Young Jury’s Award “Luis Alcoriza”, tribute is paid to this director, screenwriter and film actor born in Badajoz and exiled in Mexico after the civil war, becoming one of the greatest figures in Mexican cinema.

His career includes collaborations with Luis Buñuel in eight scripts, writing in some of his best films, among which are: “Los olvidados” and “El ángel exterminador”.
