Yuste Foundation organises the I International Congress “Relations Between Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean: A Meeting Space”

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, the University of Extremadura and the Centre for Ibero-American Studies of the Rey Juan Carlos University are organising the I International Congress which will take place in Guadalupe between 18 and 20 March 2021.

Young researchers, doctoral students and doctors who have read their thesis not more than ten years ago will be able to participate as communicators. Anyone interested can also attend as a listener. Attendance to the congress is free upon registration. Yuste Foundation will grant 14 financial grants to cover the stay of the selected communicators in Guadalupe.

There are two main themes in the congress: the historical relations between Extremadura, Europe and America, and the international relations between Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe. In terms of objectives, these focus on deepening the interaction that has been taking place historically on both sides of the Atlantic.

Those interested in submitting a communication to the congress can do so until 1 January 2021, taking into account that the languages to be employed are Spanish, English and Portuguese.

The I International Congress “Relations between Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean” has the collaboration of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Spanish Government; the Regional Government of Extremadura; the Provincial Council of Cáceres; the City Council of Guadalupe and the Franciscan Community. It is part of the plan of activities for the following events of exceptional public interest: the “25th Anniversary of the Declaration of the Royal
Monastery of Santa María de Guadalupe as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO” and the “Holy Year of Guadalupe 2021”.
