The course “40 Years Since Spain Joined the European Economic Community” was inaugurated today at the Monastery of San Jerónimo de Yuste, with the participation of the director of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, Juan Carlos Moreno; the mayor of Cuacos de Yuste and member of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, José María Hernández; the president of the Extremaduran Council of the European Movement and co-director of the course, Jaime Rossell; and Jesús Conde, deputy to the vice-rectorate for University Extension at the University of Extremadura.

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation hosts the international congress “Charles V, Vitoria and Erasmus in Yuste”, jointly organised with the University of Salamanca and the University Institute for European Studies of the CEU San Pablo University. This congress is directed by Marcelino Oreja, winner of the “Carlos V European Award”, member of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste and alumni of the University of Salamanca and José María Beneyto, International Law and International Relations Professor at the CEU San Pablo University.

The international congress “Charles V, Vitoria and Erasmus in Yuste” closed today at the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature of the University of Extremadura with the presence of the President of the Regional Government of Extremadura, Guillermo Fernández Vara; the Rectors of the Universities of Extremadura, Salamanca and San Pablo CEU: Segundo Píriz, Ricardo Rivero and Antonio Calvo respectively, as well as with representatives from the academic, social, business, cultural and the world of the Third Sector.

The University of Salamanca, the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and the University Institute for European Studies of the San Pablo-CEU University will hold the closing session of the International Congress “Charles V, Vitoria and Erasmus in Yuste” on Friday, 8 June, at 12:00 pm, at the University of Extremadura under the presidency of His Majesty the King.

The Director of European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, Juan Carlos Moreno Piñero, has announced today that the Foundation will put forward six proposals within its training programme Yuste Campus -included in the 19th edition of the International Summer Courses organised by the University of Extremadura-. These courses will be given by approximately 90 speakers from European and Ibero-American universities, international organisms, such as the European Parliament or United Nations, and from the world of business and institutions.

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation participates in the 7th Strategic Triangle: Latin-America-Europe-Africa, organised by the Institute for the Promotion of Latin America and the Caribbean (IPDAL), in Lisbon.

During the 14th and 15th of May renowned personalities and experts on transatlantic relations, politicians, managers of research centres, universities, great businesses and members of governments at each side of the Atlantic, have gathered in order to identify and analyse the improvement of the Atlantic’s triangulation processes.

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation celebrated the 12th Carlos V European Award ceremony today, for the first time under its new name. This year, the prize has been delivered to the President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani. The President of the Regional Government of Extremadura, Guillermo Fernández Vara, also participated in the ceremony which was presided over by His Majesty King Felipe VI.
