Ten Researchers Gather in Guadalupe for the Carlos V European Award-European Disability Forum Doctoral Seminar
The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation has organised the Carlos V European Award Doctoral Seminar of Multidisciplinary Studies on Contemporary Europe – European Disability Forum entitled “United in Diversity: The Impact of the European Union on the Lives of People with Disabilities”. The seminar will bring together ten researchers from Spain and Colombia, as well as experts from Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, and Serbia, from 16 to 18 December at the Royal Monastery of Santa María de Guadalupe in Spain.

Yuste Foundation mourns the death of German gerontologist Ursula Lehr, a member of the Academy of Yuste
The Board of Trustees, the Academy and the staff of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation regret the death of the German researcher and politician Ursula Lehr, who took office as a member of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste in 2000, occupying the Marie Curie Chair.
Felipe VI will deliver the Carlos V European Award to the European Disability Forum
His Majesty King Felipe VI, Honorary President of Yuste Foundation, will preside over the ceremony of the 15th Carlos V European Award, which is awarded by the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation on Wednesday, 11 May, at the Monastery of Yuste, at 12h. In this edition, the award has been granted to the European Disability Forum and its president, the Greek Yannis Vardakastanis, will be in charge of collecting it.
YUSTE FOUNDATION AND THE ELCANO ROYAL INSTITUTE SIGN A COLLABORATION AGREEMENT FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES
The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and the Elcano Royal Institute have signed a general protocol of action that aims to articulate the framework of collaboration between the two institutions for the realisation of teaching, research, and cooperation activities, and those of any other area of mutual interest, which will be regularised with the signing of subsequent specific agreements.
Yuste Foundation offers 260 grants for the 2022 Campus Yuste international summer-autumn courses
The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation opens the application period to qualify for 260 grants that will finance the tuition, accommodation and maintenance expenses incurred by the courses included in the Campus Yuste training programme. The courses are held within the framework of the 23rd edition of the University of Extremadura’s international summer-autumn courses. The training sessions will be held between June and September at the Monastery of Yuste (Cáceres), in Guadalupe and online.
The EU-LAC Foundation and the Yuste Foundation organise the course “The challenge of working together: EU-LAC relations in the face of major global challenges”
The Yuste Foundation and the EU-LAC Foundation have signed a specific collaboration agreement for the co-organisation of the course “The challenge of working together: EU-LAC relations in the face of major global challenges”, which will take place from 20 to 22 July at the Yuste Monastery. The signing of the agreement, signed by the Director of the EU-LAC Foundation, Adrián Bonilla, and the Director of the Yuste Foundation, Juan Carlos Moreno, was done telematically.
The European Disability Forum, Carlos V European Award
The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation along with the European Routes of Emperor Charles V, the University of Extremadura and the Plan de Fomento de la Lectura de Extremadura have published the guides Carlos V y La Vera. Proyecto didáctico para aprender descubriendo and Wandering in La Vera: Meditations of An Emperor. Both will be presented next Friday, 8 April at 12:30 pm at Yuste Foundation’s headquarters, which are located in the Royal Monastery of Yuste. The presentation will count with the participation of the mayor of Cuacos de Yuste and treasurer of the Network of the Routes of Emperor Charles V, José María Hernández García; the director-manager of the Network of the Routes of Emperor Charlez V, Quintín Correas Domingo, and two of the authors of the guides and professors of the University of Extremadura, Ramón Pérez Parejo, Ignacio Chato and with the illustrator, Celia Conejero.
The objective of these editions is to spread the cultural and natural heritage of the region of La Vera among the youth. They focus especially on the historical experience that the presence of Emperor Charles V entailed during the last years of his life in Jarandilla and Yuste.

Yuste Foundation Proposes the Creation of the “School of Guadalupe” in Order to Promote Knowledge of History and Law as Instruments of Coexistence

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation has organised the 1st Guadalupe in America Sessions “The Jurist from Guadalupe, Lorenzo Lebrón de Quiñones and His Time: The Forging of New Spain in the 16th Century”, along with the University of Extremadura, the Municipality of Guadalupe and the Royal Monastery of Santa María de Guadalupe, which will take place on 4 and 5 April in a mixed format: online and face-to-face in Guadalupe. The Sessions are part of the activities of the event of exceptional public interest known as the Holy Year of Guadalupe 2020-2022
