The director general for External Action of the Regional Government of Extremadura, Pablo Hurtado, inaugurated today the course “Health, Illness and Nutrition During the Reign of Charles V”, which will run until 25 July at the Monastery of San Jerónimo de Yuste. This event concludes the Campus Yuste training programme, part of the 26th edition of the University of Extremadura’s International Summer/Autumn Courses.

His Majesty the King will preside over the Carlos V European Award ceremony on the 9th of May, coinciding with Europe Day, at the Royal Monastery of Yuste, in Cuacos de Yuste. This award is granted by the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation to the President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani.

The Director General of External Action, Rosa Balas, and the Director of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, Juan Carlos Moreno Piñero, have presented the book La paz en Centroamérica, 1987-1990. El Plan Arias desde adentro, a work published by the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation along with the Arias Foundation for Peace and Human Progress, in collaboration with the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB), in Madrid. It is research on the Peace Plan in Central America from August 1987 to the end of the Arias administration period.
